Rijo42 team up with Macmillan Cancer Support

As many of our friends and customers will know, rijo42 have been fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support for many years. As of 2015, we’re delighted to announce that the charity have made us an official, approved partner and we’ve pledged to raise £42,000 in 2015 for this fantastic cause.

Our whole team are getting involved - here's the rijo42 dog, Saint Bernard Apache, showing off her T-shirt.

Cancer charities have always been particularly close to our hearts at rijo42, and as a coffee company we have a particular bond with Macmillan, as their biggest fundraising event is The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning which is held annually nationwide.

With the help of our incredibly generous customers, we’ve previously raised over £40,000 in support of this event. Our most recent efforts in September 2014 totalled a fantastic £32,555.36, and we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make this possible.

Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities, aiming to provide a source of support for everyone affected by cancer including patients, carers, families and communities. They fund nurses and other specialist health care professionals and build cancer care centres, and 98% of their income comes from donations.

We couldn’t be more proud to be officially affiliated with Macmillan in 2015, and we’re getting our new partnership underway in style by pledging to raise a further £42,000 this year. This money will fund a Macmillan nurse for an entire year, providing urgent care and support to individuals and families living with cancer.

Throughout the year we’ll be holding a number of events and initiatives designed to help us reach our total for this extremely worthwhile cause, and as ever we’d really appreciate your support. Don’t forget that as well as helping with our organised events, you can donate at any time by calling us at the office.

Cancer affects all of us and anything you’re able to give will make a huge difference to somebody who needs Macmillan this year.
