Five members of the rijo42 team have bravely (or stupidly) volunteered to face Tough Mudder in a bid to raise money for charity.
A gruelling 10-12 mile obstacle course designed by the Special Forces, Tough Mudder is described as ‘probably the toughest event on the planet’. This hardcore course tests participant’s strength, stamina, determination and team spirit. Only 78% of entrants complete this physically draining and mentally exhausting event.
The rijo42 Mudders Team comprises personnel from both our sales and service departments. Flying the flag for Sales are Field Sales Consultants, Boot Camp fanatic Tamara Hall and ex squaddie Ryan Mannifield. They’re both very used to demonstrating our bean to cup coffee machine but they’ll have to demonstrate some serious stamina to complete this course. Stepping up from the Service is double trouble in the form of The Caple Brothers – Head Technician, Simon and Technician/Master Barista, Big Dave. Last but by no means least, rijo42 Service Co-Coordinator of 15 years, James Cooke completes the rijo42 Mudders team.
The team was organised by the lovely Tamara, definitely not one to shy away from a challenge, Tamara proposed the Tough Mudder idea with the aim of raising much-needed funds for a charity very close to her heart. All money raised by the rijo42 Mudders will be donated to the MS Society for research into Multiple Sclerosis, a neurological condition which affects around 100,000 people in the UK.
Our intrepid team face the gruelling challenge on Saturday 7th September at The Broughton Hall Estate in Skipton, Yorkshire. They will have to attack 20-25 hardcore obstacles on the course route, which are, of course, strategically positioned to test participants at their weakest and most fatigued points. They will face mud, fire, ice, water, 12’ walls and underground mud tunnels, this course will push them to their limits physically, mentally and emotionally and they will require high team morale and camaraderie to get through it.
We couldn’t be prouder of the rijo42 Mudders for taking on this phenomenal challenge and are doing our utmost to raise as much sponsorship money as possible. We have every confidence in them completing the course and wish them the very best of luck.
Bean to cup coffee machines on standby and double espressos all round on the morning of the 7th!
If you would like to sponsor the rijo42 Mudders, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, all donations gratefully received.
