Carl’s Coast to Coast Challenge for Macmillan

Last weekend an intrepid member of our Service Team completed a Coast to Coast bike ride to assist in raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Carl Liprott has been with the company for just over a year, a key member of our Service Team, Carl specialises in the expert installation of our commercial coffee machines. When we announced our corporate partnership with Macmillan back in January, Carl was more than happy to step up and volunteer for a sponsored challenge to assist us in exceeded our fundraising target of £42,000 in 2015. Carl put himself forward for a 170 mile coast to coast bike ride challenge, gaining sponsorship from colleagues, family and friends.

Leaving Southport on Friday 24th April, Carl rode down through Stockport and on to Glossop, where he ended the first day with a fantastic 85 miles clocked up. On day two Carl rode over the Pennines to reach his overnight campsite in Selby, with a total of 67 miles racked up for that day. Up early on the 26th, Carl rode from Selby to reach his final destination of Hornsea.

Although exhausted and having faced all weathers, Carl completed his challenge, over 170 miles and raised a fantastic £536.00 for Macmillan Cancer Support. We’re incredibly proud of his efforts and we know the money he used will be put to great use by Macmillan, supporting families and individuals living with Cancer. There’s still time to donate for Carl’s challenge, please visit his Just Giving page. All donations are greatly appreciated.
